Malosey quilts are colourful, fun and warm. Made from 100% cotton fabrics prewashed and pressed and contain 100% cotton quilt filling. I choose the fabrics for each quilt spontaneously and no two items are the same. My education and experience are in fine art painting and teaching textiles and art. Both of my passions have morphed into the creation of beautiful colourful quilts. I consider the balance of colour, texture and pattern in each composition the same as I would for a painting and they would look equally good on the wall as on a bed or couch.
The patchwork elements of each quilt are machine stitched but the final quilting stitch I do by hand for a real homemade feel. I was born in the seventies and grew up with hand made toys and clothes, home baking and brightly patterned furniture and decor, I hope my quilts capture a little of that nostalgia.
